In honor of the All Need Love Festival, the current Second City cast will be creating and performing like only they can do. Nothing like a good dose of laughter with your love fest, right? FUNKADESIFamous for the soulful ferocity of their roots music, Chicago-based Funkadesi is made up by a diverse, dynamic ensemble of world musicians busy discovering both themselves and the collaboration that is Funkadesi. Unafraid to explore the inner musical workings of their musical mates, the end product is intense, soulful and the interplay they create on stage will suffuse the audience in soul-deep rhythms at the 2011 All Need Love Festival. Even President Barack Obama has weighed in: “Funkadesi really knows how to get fired up; there’s a lot of funk in that desi!” |

BANDOLEROSOne of Chicago’s most well-regarded and eclectic bands, the term world music finds definition in the Caribbean- and Mediterranean-influenced beats laid down by Bandoleros. Founded in 1997 by Johnny Shabandar and Wesam Isho, they’ve gone on to international critical acclaim, regular media plaudits, and well-deserved awards. As international as Chicago, the city they call home, their music is about love (and life) in all its many forms. Check out the video on the right to see Bandoleros in action; their music video, Habibi Nisani, will give you the perfect taste of what’s in store. |

LIOR SUCHARDThe All Need Love Festival is not your average Valentine’s Day event: take headliner Lior Suchard, for example, an esteemed mentalist and “supernatural entertainer.” Since kicking off his career in 2002, the Israeli artist has been mystifying audiences across the globe with his mind-bending live performances to international television appearances. His generally mind-blowing repertoire includes everything from mind reading and thought influencing to telekinesis. Throw in a good sense of humor and a solid stage presence and you have a show that is not to be missed. |
